Distance Learning 2020
This semester we will be focusing on our year end portfolio and end of year show. While the projects this semester are bigger projects, you MUST turn in at least two finished images each week.
1.Emulation Project
Research a photographer and write a paper about her/him and their work. Create at least three photographs that emulate their style.
A.Select photographer by Jan. 13
B.1St Draft due Feb. 14
C.Final paper and prints due Mar. 18
2.Personal Project—Due April 23
Generate your own idea for a photography project, discuss it with Mr. Moffett, then document your idea in writing and submit it for final approval. A minimum of 5 photographs must be completed for the project. This must be either a documentary type of project or a conceptual project made with composite images. These photographs may be used in your portfolio.
3.Final Portfolio and Show
Our Final Show will be on May 12th, and you must have your portfolio completed with an Artist Statement by that date. Two images will also be framed and hung at the show. Invitations for the show must be created by May 1st.
Your final portfolio must include the following images:
2-Sports
2-Portraits
2-Landscape
2-Architecture
2-Still Life
14-Free Choice
4.Darkroom Project—To be completed in April
A.Make an interesting Photogram
B.Successfully expose at least 2 rolls of film and develop them.
C.Make 2 successful prints in the darkroom.
Third Period on Mon.-Thurs. will be instruction and in-class project time, specifically for prepping for SkillsUSA and the End of Course Assessment. Fourth Period and all day on Friday’s will be your lab time to use at your discretion. Use it wisely!!
