Who is Mr. Moffett?
I live what I teach. Aside from my family, photography is my life. It is all I have known. I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and immediately took a job in Boise as a custom photographic printer where I printed for many of the professionals in the Treasure Valley. While working, I started my own studio, Moffett Photography, specializing in high school senior and family portraiture. I have also photographed my share of weddings. I have operated the studio in Nampa since 1995.
I have been very involved in the professional photographer organizations and am a past president of Professional Photographers of Idaho. I have also served as a board member of Rocky Mountain Professional Photographers Association. I compete internationally and have received my Master of Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America. In 2008 I was awarded the Gold Medalist Photographer of the Year Award from PPA. For my personal work, I love to travel and photograph the landscape. I recently published Silent Solitude, a coffee table book featuring photographs of Lake Lowell. I am currently working on a series of images along the Oregon Coast. If that doesn't keep me busy enough, I love spending time with my family. I am happily married and have 5 wonderful children, who are all graduates of Nampa High. Of all the things I have done in life, I find working with students to be the most rewarding. We have great kids in Nampa and it is an honor to be able to help them recognize and reach their potential. |
