Class will begin with a short Zoom meeting. Watch your email for the invitation. Be prepared to report on your project status. These are due on the 15th. We will also discuss the next project. We will be doing a series of short, 1 week projects from now until the end of the year. Do these along with the current project and you will be OK. I realize that it has been a bit of a struggle this year, starting with a virus (computer virus) and ending with a virus (Covid-19). Most of you are coping well and continuing to do great work. Keep it up and we will get through it all!
If you have a project proposal, something you would like to do, please come to class with that in mind. I am open to your ideas. I really want to end the year on a high note, so let me know what you want and it will be considered. I look forward to seeing you online! I sent an email that needs to be replied to! It's time to get to work and finish up the "Free Choice--Prove It" project. You should have all of your photos for it now. If you don't, it's not because we haven't had great weather. Below you'll see a couple of images that I made just a couple of evenings back.
Now that your photographs are taken, begin work on your Adobe Spark page (or other presentation method). Once this is completed, we will be moving on to some short, fun shooting exercises. No pressure type of projects to finish out this crazy year. In fact, if you have an idea for a project, submit it to me. Maybe we'll do it. Today is a dedicated work day. I want to see something come in!! Only 9 of you (from both classes) have shared an image with me. The purpose of sharing an image is so that I can become aware of any technology related problems we may be encountering and get them resolved BEFORE your projects are due. The instructions for sharing a Lightroom Collection is posted in Documents. We will have an open Q&A session via Zoom for any that need/want a little extra assistance. I will be sending the invitation via Remind prior to your class time. If you need anything else, please message me. If we need to set up individual conferencing, that is easy to do. Just let me know.
No Zoom class today. A new Response Journal page has been added to OneNote called April 6 Update and Goals. Please respond TODAY with a statement as to your project status and what your goals for this week are, then start working on it. Your pictures should all be taken by this point and you should be editing and working on your Spark Page.
If you are having problems with technology (computer or software not working right), connect with me today during class hours and we can figure out what is happening and get it fixed. If you did not share and image with me last week, DO IT TODAY! This is the only way I know things are working. Today we will have quick meeting on Zoom to demonstrate how to share photos with me for review and feedback prior to turning them in. With future projects, this may be the way that they will actually be turned in. Here is a video that explains the process: Sharing a Gallery from Lightroom Classic
Here are step by step instructions as well: Sharing a collection from LR Classic Keep working on the Free Choice Project. The new due dates are Apr. 14 for 2A and the 15th for 3B. Remember, it is OK to turn it in early! I already have one turned in and I challenge you all to try beat it in terms of quality, because it's really good! Check your email for an invitation to your Zoom meeting link. We will be discussing our distance learning plan. Please log on to the meeting a few minutes early to make sure that the Zoom App is loaded and working. Keep working on your Free Choice project, as it was originally assigned to be turned in on Adobe Spark, or something similar. That is already an online platform, so there should not be any issues with this project. Due to the lost time prior to Spring Break, the due date will be adjusted slightly. There will be a tutorial video posted in OneNote that shows you how to share images with me directly from Lightroom.

Take the first 5 minutes of class and write about the following quote.
To spot the difference between an average picture and an excellent picture, you have to look at a lot of pictures. And to see an opportunity that others would miss, you have to take a lot of photos that miss the moment, too. - Jim Beecher Think about this. What is he really saying? Do you agree or disagree and why? After reviewing the previous assignments (Vocabulary, Towels and Equivalent Exposure), the rest of the day was used as a lab day. The assignment was given to make sure that something is turned in today!
