Introduced Line. Discussed and showed examples of photographs utilizing leading lines and discussed the characteristics of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The assignment is to make photographs where line is the dominant element of composition in use.
Introduced using curves adjustment layers to control and adjust contrast. Using the provided images, students practiced the new techniques.
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop. Watched video on the interface and the toolbar. Basic camera settings to check every time you photograph: 1. Quality - As high as possible! 2. White balance 3. Sharpening - should be off or as low as possible because Photoshop will sharpen better than your camera will. 4. Contrast - Set it low so that we have control on our processing in Photoshop. 5. Date Stamp - Turn it off! Reviewed Rule of Thirds and then photographed for the assignment.
